RECALIBRATIONS: New Works by Elise Rugolo

Please join Orr Street Studios in celebrating new work by local artist Elise Rugolo at Orr Street Studios.

"Recalibrations" is an exploration organic or biomorphic forms with geometric shapes or patterns to create a unique space – sometimes lively, sometimes meditative in nature. Pattern and rhythm, as well as calligraphic marks and brushstrokes, are suggestive of dance or motion borne out of a sense of urgency. Viewers often comment on the “energy” inherent in my artwork.

I recently rekindled with an early love: monotypes. I am currently focusing on this technique and learning how to use my new CPL press. My goal is to continue increasing the scale of my prints and to explore combining other processes with the monoprint technique. This is my first exhibition of my new monotype work."
