Programs

Gallery Shows

In its main gallery, Orr Street Studios hosts ten to twelve
art exhibits yearly, including:

  • Solo shows by local and regional artists working in various mediums and genres. Receptions are usually held on First Fridays. This is a good opportunity to see more comprehensive displays of an artist’s work.

  • The One Read Art Exhibit in collaboration with the Daniel Boone Regional Library’s One Read program. A community-wide reading program that focuses on one book followed by discussions, activities, and the open invitational Art Exhibit at Orr Street in September.

  • Photo Vision: a community photography exhibit sponsored by Miller Professional Imaging. An open invitational exhibit featuring the work of professional and non-professional photographers held in October.

  • The Orr Street Artists Annual Exhibit: a group show of the work of Orr Street Artists only. On display during the month of December.

  • Special Invitational Community Shows occur on an irregular basis at Orr Street. Some past examples include: Habitat for Humanity Photography Exhibit, The National Geographic Pictures of the year, a solar eclipse show, poster contests and shows, fiber artist group shows, The Built Environment (a national juried exhibition), and exhibit of local art teachers’ work.
