Call for Art!
Orr Street Studios, Columbia MO
November 2026 Exhibit
Artists are invited to create a work of art (any media) that is inspired by a past artist who has contributed both significantly and historically to the art world.
Who are you inspired by? Whose style, technique or subject matter would you be interested in reinterpreting while exploring contemporary themes? We are challenging and welcoming artists to submit a work for our November exhibit. Interested artists are to send the following three requirements to: director@orrstreetstudios.com by October 12, 2026.
Note the following as an example of submission.
1. Image of your artwork (include your name, title, medium, size, and price)
Example: Jane Mudd, Modern Day Potato Eaters
Oil, 26”x34” $xxx
2 Image of the work of art that inspired you (include artist, nationality, title and date
of the work).
Example: Vincent Van Gogh,
Dutch, The Potato Eaters, 1885
3. Brief description of your thoughts on inspiration and/or interpretation (75 words or
less)
Example: I have always been intrigued by Van Gogh’s direct portrayal of the
humble Dutch family dining on their own labor intensive, home grown potatoes. I
wonder what Van Gogh would think of such easy access to the ‘potato’ today,
and my satirical depiction of a modern, American family’s sense of awkward
entitlement.

Oct. 31, 1-4pm Artwork due at Orr Street Studios
Nov. 6, First Friday reception
Nov. 28, 1-4pm Pick up work
Submissions must be for sale. All 2D work should be wired for hanging and
framed or presented in professional manner.
