(Carol) Mira Stoddart

(Carol) Mira Stoddart has been creating and teaching art for most of her life.  From a young age she was inspired to create and continues to do so in her retirement.  Mira graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute with a major in sculpture and a minor in fibers.  Her art education steered her into teaching art and art appreciation to others.  Having taught all ages throughout her career, she found her niche in teaching public school elementary art and did so for 28 years.  Ms. Stoddart used her love of mixed media and found object collage in the classroom as well as in her own work.  She retired from public school teaching in 2020 and now has a studio space at Orr Street Studios in downtown Columbia where she works on her wall sculptures, necktie purses and a variety of glass art.
